International students

Service Learning is a teaching and learning method that combines academic theory with practical experiences in civil society organizations as well as reflection.

Together with numerous initiatives, associations and NGOs we offer hands-on civic engagement projects to students, which are possible also under pandemic restrictions.

You have the opportunity to get involved in five fields of action:

  • Digitalization
  • Life & Environmental Sciences
  • Interculturality & Migration
  • Environment & Sustainability
  • Advocacy

In addition to the initiatives, projects and opportunities for civic engagement offered by our cooperation partners, you can also look for volunteering opportunities yourself in all of these fields.

Additionally, you can choose from 7 virtual workshops to discuss and contextualize your questions from your practical experience. By learning through civic engagement and reflection you acquire 4 ECTS points for the BOK section.

Booking of the module Service Learning is possible BY NOW: click here

The Kick off event will take place on Friday, Oct 23.

In winter semester ‘20/’21 the module is offered only in German – appropriate German language skills are required. From summer semester ‘21 on, the module will be available for English speakers.
